Comics Steve/Tony: Ults! 1872, Noir, 616 that isn't deeply canon-dependent. I'm learning, but I'm slow and chaotic. Willing to be introduced to new things as long as heavy canon knowledge isn't required in advance.
Other Fandoms/Ships/Characters: Buffy/Spike, 10th Doctor/Rose, Destiel, Bitty/Parse, Winterhawk, Winteriron, MCU Stuckony.
Likes: Angst with a happy ending, Extremis, Internalized Homophobia, AUs (especially meet-cutes), Fluff, HURT/COMFORTTTT, Happy Endings, Porn, Get-Togethers, Clothes Sharing, Misunderstandings, A/B/O, Vampires, Werewolves, Soulmates, the tropiest of tropey nonsense! I sound really fluffy, but I adore the hurtiest-hurt followed by the comfortiest-comfort, so dark is good as long as it comes around in the end. Vaguely Promptish Things: terrible ex/recovering from abusive relationship; alpha/alpha hate/angry sex turned love; torture/severe injury in the field recovery care leading to feeling reveals!
Dislikes: Sad Endings, Dark/Evil versions of chars, woobification, MCD (unless presumed or temporary, in which case yumm), Actually Unrequired/Unresolved feelings.
Non-fandom related requests/anything else?: I love all animals, especially cute, baby animals! I like puzzles, both jigsaw and non. I knit, so I love pictures of pretty yarn and links to patterns. Your favourite vines/vine compilations and/or toktiks with vine energy. Comic recs with links to RCO or MU so I can actually find them XD. I adore anything at all to do with my fandom works. Dinner recipe recs. Audio book recs. Good feelings put out into the universe. <3

Your MCU fic Falling For You is one of my absolute favorites. A friend of mine and me read it together and it's a real special memory. Thanks so much for writing an awesome story. We really loved it.

So here's some fanart for it.

And for a dinner recipe recommendation BA's chicken and dumplings

https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/best-chicken-and-dumplings

It looks complicated but that's because they show how to make the stock. Buying stock at the store is fine and you can also use a rotisserie chicken for the meat. No judgements, you do you.

OMG BESSIE!! That's so amazing THANK YOU SO MUCH!! It feels like something Steve would draw of his fav gal and Tony would hang a print of it in his office to remind himself how it all started :D

That chicken and dumplings looks super yum, I haven't had them in a really long time so I'll def be making it with Mr Ferret on date night.

Thank you!!! <3

You're welcome! You're right, Tony would definitely hang up a print of Bessie forever and ever. She's his god-bike afterall.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, FestiveFerret!
As a fellow puzzle lover, I have a puzzle and a rec for you!

[A famous space explorer has just discovered a new planet and landed on its surface to investigate it further. During his three-hour investigation, he counted 379 male Octopleans, 435 female Octopleans, and 125 with the features of both male and female Octopleans. So right now, how many aliens are there on this planet?]
Answer:

1 of course! The astronaut is the alien on the Octoplean's home planet, not the Octopleans.

This puzzle actually comes from one of my favorite game series, "Professor Layton" which was developed by Level-5 for the DS and 3DS (It's also on available on Android and iOS). They have all kinds of puzzles: chess, jigsaw, logic, trick questions, etc. I 100% recommend that you give it a try if you want to pass the time solving puzzles on your phone.

In case you're interested here is the link to the first game in iOS and Android.

happy holidays to you and mrf, ferret!

I don't know if you like custom puzzles, but I became an avid puzzler with a family I stayed with a while back and I have been poking at this site for a while that allows you to create your own puzzles! It gives you so many material and shape options, and it's really, REALLY nifty. I know you mentioned having access to VR at some point, as well (I think!) and there's a game that I'm in love with for the Quest called "Puzzling Places" that is so, so charming.

As for dinner recipe recs, this isn't quite dinner but IS dinner-adjacent, and everyone I have ever made it for has gone wild over it. It's a berry cheesecake fruit salad type thing, and it is DELICIOUS.

again, happy holidays!! <3 i hope you enjoy these

Ooo those custom puzzles look so cool! I will be getting those for x-mas gifts this year hahaha (plus one of my doggos for me :P). I will check out Puzzling Places! We don't have a Quest but MrF can do magic things so maybe he can make it happen for me :D

That looks SO TASTY! Will try for sure. Thank you soooo much!!!! <3

Hey, Ferret!

You asked for comics recs so I'm going to rec some stuff I don't rec for the server book clubs because it only tangentially concerns Steve and/or Tony. I figure if you want Steve/Tony recs, the rest of the server has you covered.

When I first got into Marvel Comics fandom a long long time ago, there was this thing called The Common People. It was a trope/challenge involving writing fic about the ordinary people of the Marvel universe, with superheroes mentioned only in passing. I think about TCP an awful lot for a thing that hasn't existed in, like, twenty years.

So, in that vein, these are recs for comics that are sort of superhero-adjacent, in that they are not primarily about superheroes doing the superhero thing, or at least are about superheroes in non-standard circumstances. This is also me trying to pick things that I think can be appreciated with minimal comics knowledge and not so much "inside baseball."

  • Alias. This one's not on Marvel Unlimited because it's part of the MAX (adult) line of comics, so you'll have to read it on RCO. It's 28 issues and probably my absolute favorite thing Bendis has ever written; this is him at his best. I assume you're familiar with MCU Jessica Jones, but, unlike the MCU adaptation, the comic has a lot of focus on Jess' past as a superhero, what she thinks about superheroes, and why she isn't one anymore. She's basically on the fringes of the Avengers, doing her PI stuff; Carol Danvers is her BFF, and one of the first cases we see is her investigating a tape that reveals Captain America's secret identity to the world.

  • Captain America: Patriot is a miniseries about the third Captain America, Jeff Mace, a superhero with no powers whatsoever who steps in to serve his country. After Steve's "death," the government keeps putting other men in the suit for the rest of WWII. So this is a story very much about living in the memory and the shadow of Captain America; it includes the rest of the Invaders and there's an amazing scene where Jeff takes a stand against homophobia by punching Namor in the face.

  • Damage Control. I can't find this on MU, so RCO it is. There are several miniseries; this is the first one. They're by the extremely underrated Dwayne McDuffie. You're probably familiar with Damage Control from the MCU; they're a organization (founded by Tony, IIRC) in charge of cleaning up after superhero damage and it's a very interesting small-scale story about a construction firm just trying to make it through life on Earth 616 when shit gets demolished every Wednesday. Like, one of the issues is entirely about them being mad that Doctor Doom stiffed them. (If you're willing to buy an actual book of comics, I highly recommend the Damage Control Complete Collection, which has everything.)

  • Marvels is the famed 1994 miniseries by Busiek & Ross. The gimmick is that it retells famous events of early canon from the eyes of a newspaper reporter who just happens to be there. The art is gorgeous, and you don't need to know the original stories to enjoy this, though if you like it, there are several annotated editions available that will walk you through the references. Marvels here gave rise to a bunch of sequels with similar names and similar themes, though honestly most of them are skippable. (I do love the current The Marvels series but it is also very much for continuity nerds.)

  • Marvels Snapshots. These are on MU but they're all there under the individual titles and not as a series, so you might find them easier to read on RCO. This is a recent anthology series by various creators that takes classic events in Marvel history and retells them from the POV of, usually, some innocent bystander -- e.g., civilians in the Cap and Avengers ones, a prison guard in the CW one. You don't have to be familiar with the original events and I think they're really good self-contained stories.

  • Nextwave: Agents of HATE. These guys are an actual superhero team but also they kind of suck so I don't think they should really count. Anyway, this is a parody series that may or may not be set in 616 featuring a team of mostly C-list heroes led by a long-suffering Monica Rambeau who definitely wishes she were still an Avenger. This is a humorous series featuring a bunch of bizarre fights and a very sincere discussion between Monica and Elsa Bloodstone about whether Captain America is gay.

  • The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. Okay, okay, I'm cheating here, because Doreen Green is definitely a real superhero but this comic book is absolutely delightful. Squirrel Girl was previously a joke character who showed up and defeated villains off-panel and we never found out how she did it, but this plays it all completely straight. It ran for two series, 2015 and 2015-2019, which should be read in that order, as the second series continues on from the first. There's a graphic novel somewhere in the middle there too. Ryan North is an amazing writer, the whole thing is charming and nerdy and touching, you don't really need to know anything about anything, and Tony makes several excellent cameo appearances.

I hope you enjoy them! Happy holidays!

Happy Valentine's Day, ferret! Please look at this big pup who conquers his fear of metal floors and this ferret going nuts over snow.

I thinkkkk this was the puzzle that I saw a bunch of my friends get for Christmas. They really enjoyed it and it's 1,000 pieces so it'll take a bit of time to put together.

This is a gorgeous, artsy pastoral puzzle.

And this 750-piece puzzle is more funky!

If you're really, really into puzzles, I found a puzzle subscription club that sends you an exclusive 500-piece puzzle every month, every other month, or quarterly.

I'm not sure what stuff you knit, but here are some Marvel patterns:

- very cute Venom scarf

- vintage Spidey sweater

- Nakia's scarf

And looking up all these puzzles makes me want to buy one of my own. I just might.
