It's so hot but fun at the same time which is exactly why I love AA Steve/Tony! A few romance wlw book recs:
- Once Ghosted, Twice Shy by Alyssa Cole. This is a novella that’s basically book 2.5 of a romance trilogy. The main novels are m/f, contemporary, and have an Afrofuturism vibe. It’s been awhile since I read this series, but I think this book should make sense without reading the others.
- How to Find a Princess, also by Alyssa Cole, hasn’t been released yet but I’m really excited about it! This one is a full-length romance novel billed as a “queer Anastasia retelling.” Alyssa Cole is one of my all-time fave romance writers and I’m really excited she’s writing more wlw.
- One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston (who wrote Red, White, and Royal Blue) hasn’t been released yet either, but a couple of my friends got advanced reader copies and absolutely adored it. Also, TIME TRAVEL.
- Citywide by Santino Hassell. I haven’t read this one yet either, but I’ve read other books by this author, which I adored, and my bff (who I get all my romance recs from) really liked this one. It’s 3 (I think novella-length?) romance stories collected in one book, and only one of them is wlw.
- Mrs. Martin’s Incomparable Adventure by Courtney Milan is another novella that’s part of a longer series (the main novels are m/f, and there’s a m/m novella too).

For all that Steve promised they wouldn’t be working together, Tony can’t help but worry—well, there’s worry involved—that he’ll be there, too, like how he ended up working with the team against the Hood and then joining the Illuminati. But he isn’t.
Carol and Jess are late, which makes Maria scowl, and then halfway through the proceedings a big tawny dog ambles into the room, walks in a circle, and lays down, which makes Maria scowl even more. At least she’s not looking at Tony that way.
When the meeting’s over, before Maria dismisses everyone to tell off Carol and Jess, Logan nods at the dog and says, “What’s he doing here, anyway?”
“Don’t worry about him,” Maria says, though she’s glaring at the dog. He lazily opens piercing white-blue eyes before letting them fall closed again. “He’s very well-trained.” This she says pointedly, almost like she’s trying to remind the dog of this fact. He ignores her.

Dirig!! The winged Steve is gorgeous??? I really really love the interpretation of his wings like tree branches (reminding me of his like a tree abeside the river of truth line!) I love the detail and how it actually sort of gives me a brittle impression? It's amazing and I'm going to not stop thinking about this now *stows away idea for future fic!!*

Happy Valentine's Day, magic!<3 Here's a Hickmanvengers fic present for you: The Burning of Flowers

Lesbian/WLW recs:
- The Half of It on Netflix! This movie isn't perfect, but it's sweet and it features a romance between two WOC. It's directed and written by a Chinese American woman, and the protagonist is a Chinese American teen girl. I especially love that this is a story that shows different kinds of love—self-love, love between family, love between friends, and romantic love—and emphasizes that they're just as important as romantic love! Aside from the Cyrano de Bergerac premise, I loved the way it dealt with Ellie's loneliness as both a lesbian and Asian immigrant and the ending is very fulfilling, imo. 

- Killing Eve is very much enemies-to-lovers. I think people debate whether this counts as queerbaiting or not, but at least one of the main characters is bi and the whole story examines the mutual attraction between them and how that changes them and affects their relationships. Lots of UST and lots of cat-and-mouse suspenseful fun, at least for the first two seasons. Both Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer are brilliant in it as is Fiona Shaw.

Animals:
- little kittens small enough to fit in people's hands

- a golden retriever who wants the attention of her owner

- very round bird on ice

You asked for WLW recs and I was honestly going to rec The Half of It but I see that Sea already has that covered, so consider this a second rec. It's the best lesbian movie I can remember seeing recently. If you're into books, I am sure I have probably already recced The Locked Tomb trilogy by Tamsyn Muir (the first book is Gideon the Ninth, the second book is Harrow the Ninth, and the third comes out sometime) -- the main characters have this whole slow-burn enemies-to-lovers vibe going on with extreme extreme extreme loyalty kink. It's very intense and epic and the second book does some really cool things with POV and is also, uh, a canon-divergence AU of the first book, sort of. Anyway, it's a lot of fun.

Thank you for another year of modding the server and all the events, including this one... keeping the Fandom Home going strong.

The pretty kittens who frequent my back parking lot are mostly grown up now. Here are a couple of photos of them that aren't very good quality - bad old cell phone camera, and glare-y sunlight that day - but the cats are sweet babies anyway.
