Victor was still mightily peeved about getting tagged with the backlash of that miniaturization spell. No, not mightily. Supremely, and that wasn't a pun, it was a precisely designated statement of blame. But getting to (literally) climb his (yes, sigh, still) favorite sorcerer like a tree (while stormily grumbling the whole way) was definitely helping to make up -- and up and up and up and UP -- for it.
In fact, it seemed the most strategic course would be to stop halfway, and plant himself against the trunk right there at that perfectly formed crotch.
And then he'd have his sequoia-esque Stephen by the root.
