Oh, wait, I do have a problematic queer book rec, combining, uh, being problematic AND cute animals: Feed Them Silence by Lee Mandelo is a novella about a researcher who undergoes brain surgery so that she can experience the mind of a wolf and the wolf's experiences and also it's about her marriage to her wife falling apart while she just goes, like, full wolf-obsessed.
