- A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles This is my FAVORITE book I read last year! I put it off for so long because of the cover lol. It gave "this is a book for middle-aged men" vibes, but it was surprisingly funny and was a great adventure even if it takes place in one hotel over decades.
- Piranesi by Susanna Clarke You might like Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell which is much plottier (and bigger), but Piranesi is such a stunning little gem of a book and it'll provide you with comfort and beauty. It's short so it's easy to get through!

- On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong
It'll take your breath away because of its lyricism and the M/M relationship will break your heart.
