None of these are new, but they all have pretty art and they all have plot: Copperhead (space western) set in a mining town on the edge of a backwater planet - there's a new sheriff in town Sandman (fantasy/mythicalish, bit of horror?) Written by Neil Gaiman with various artists, the omnibus editions are great if you need to knock someone unconscious Saga (epic space opera/fantasy) husband and wife from opposite sides of a galactic war try to escape together Check Please! (ice hockey life) queer protag portrayed positively
